Dongrui Steel Structure Plant recently successfully completed the installation and commissioning of a 1.29mw solar photovoltaic system and a 522kWh energy storage cabinet, helping factory transform and upgrade towards green and intelligent.

Henan Dongrui Steel Structure Engineering Co., Ltd, due to the rising production demand and electricity costs, coupled with increasingly stringent environmental regulations, the factory’s decision-makers decided to introduce solar photovoltaic and energy storage systems to achieve the dual goals of economic and environmental benefits.
Ceramax team conducted an on-site assessment of the power demand of the factory, determining the peak power demand period and load conditions.
Laying solar panels on the roof of a factory is the ideal choice. However, the structure of the factory roof and the layout of the solar panels need to be considered. First, the roof structure of the factory needs to be evaluated to ensure that it can bear the weight of the solar panels. In addition, a reasonable layout design can maximize the power generation efficiency of photovoltaic modules.
Through analysis, according to the actual needs of the factory, Ceramax team designed a 1.29mw/522kwh hybrid system solution for the plant to reduce operating costs and increase energy self-sufficiency. The factory finally adopted this solution.

550W solar panel are the mainstream products on the market. Then Ceramax team choosed 2,346pcs monocrystalline silicon 550W high-efficiency solar panels on the roof of the factory, with a total power of 1.29mw. The solar panels can generate more than 7,000 kWh per day on average in summer and more than 4,000 kWh per day on average in winter, which can fully meet the electricity demand of normal production.

Taking into account the lack of sunshine, Ceramax chose to add two 261kwh energy storage cabinets, with a total power of 522kwh. The cabinet uses 5pcs lithium battery packs, which are composed of 52pcs 3.2V 314AH CATL cells, with a layout of 1 in parallel and 52 in series. The advantages of CATL cells are mainly reflected in high energy density, long life, safety and reliability, strong adaptability, high intelligence and strong production capacity, stable performance reduces safety hazards. The cabinet integrates local EMS, fire protection, PCS, high-voltage box, liquid cooling and other subsystems, providing customers with a safe and flexible battery energy storage system option.


The cabinets can effectively store excess electricity for use in case of power shortage, avoiding electricity waste. The system operates in two modes: “valley charging and peak discharge” and “flat charging and peak discharge”. It can be charged when the electricity price is low, and release electricity during the peak period of electricity price, and sell electricity to the power grid, thereby maximizing economic benefits. The investment will probably pay off within two years. The cabinet is integrated with the existing power system to ensure coordinated operation with the generator set and the power grid. Of course, customers can view the battery charging and discharging status in real time on the cloud platform and monitor the battery operation.
